PunyTools is designed to be fun and privacy-friendly. Here's what you should know:
📌 Community Board
- Codename & Message: When you post on the Community Board, we store your chosen codename and message publicly.
- Approximate Location: We detect your approximate location (city and country only) based on your IP address. This is displayed on the "Where are posters from?" page for fun.
- IP Address: Your IP address is hashed (encrypted) for spam prevention. We do NOT store or share your actual IP address.
⚠️ Important: Location data is approximate and based on your internet provider's location, not your exact physical location. It may show a nearby city rather than your actual location.
🍪 Cookies
We use local storage to remember your theme preference (dark/light mode). We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics.
📊 Visit Counter
The "Stalkers" counter on the homepage is just for fun and does not track individual users.
🔐 Data Security
- All API endpoints are protected with security headers
- Rate limiting prevents spam and abuse
- IP addresses are hashed, not stored in plain text
- Data files are not directly accessible
🗑️ Data Deletion
Since posts are anonymous, we cannot identify which posts belong to you. If you need a specific post removed, please contact us with the exact message content and we'll remove it.
